On Saturday, the Municipality of Addington Highlands was proud to host local MPP for Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox and Addington, Randy Hillier, to help them unveil the new Denbigh Library. In 2011, the municipality was awarded a $72,500 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) to relocate the Denbigh Library to the new Addington Highlands Community Centre.
The new location provides patrons and visitors with a fully accessible, air-conditioned library, accessible unisex wash washroom and entrance to the building. The renovations included opening one and a half classrooms into one bright room, providing space for a new children’s area, a youth and teen’s area, a space for adults to sit and read, visit with friends, or use computer work stations.
The new Denbigh Library is sure to provide a public service which will be a source of community pride for many years to come.
