Membership Fees and Fines Details Eligibility

All residents and ratepayers in the Municipality of Addington Highlands are eligible for a free membership at the library.

Non-resident can get a membership for $10.00 per year.

Books and DVD’s

Books can be signed out for a 3 week period.

DVD’s can be signed out for a 1 week period.

Patrons are responsible for the items they take out of the library and returning them on time.

The library makes every effort for provide the patron’s opportunity to avoid fines, in the event they cannot return their books on time patrons can renew, by calling or e-mailing the library.

Both locations also offer a drop box.

Materials not returned on time are subject to overdue fees:

$ .10 per day per book or DVD to a maximum of $ 3.00 per book or DVD.

Replacement charges apply if items are lost or damaged.

Patrons can sign out no more than 2 “New Release” materials at a time.

Other services available

Printing and photocopy $ .25 black and white $ .50 colour per page.

Fax $.35 for first page $ .25 for each additional page.

No charge for computer and internet usage.

Rules of Conduct

Read and work quietly

Keep an eye on any children you bring to visit us. We welcome youngsters, but we cannot take responsibility for their supervision.

Use our materials, equipment and furniture with care.

Leave pets at home. Guide and/or service dogs, of course are permitted.

Request permission from library staff before doing any canvassing, posting, photography, filming, or video or audio recording on the library premises.

Leave sports equipment outside or at home. Follow the instruction of the library staff in an emergency.

Please do not:

Use abusive, obscene or threatening language.

Engage in illegal or aggressive behavior.

Block entrances and exits.

Eat or drink in the library, except in designated areas.

Remove any item from the library without staff permission.

Anyone choosing to disrespect these guidelines may be asked to leave the Library. Violation of Conduct may result in cost-recovery charges, suspension of Library privileges, and exclusion from Library property or prosecution.
